ESPER EDGEBOX

Stop pulling from the cloud.
Start serving from the edge.

When you're deploying thousands of devices, every minute of provisioning and every megabyte of bandwidth multiplies. EdgeBox moves provisioning, updates, configurations, and most other device ops onto your local network so the cloud stops being the bottleneck.

THE PROBLEM

When cloud-only math breaks, Esper EdgeBox is the answer

EdgeBox is an on-prem caching gateway for dedicated-device fleets — a managed service that runs on a gateway inside your network. It pulls from Esper Cloud once, then every device pulls from EdgeBox across your local network. Provision devices and run management operations — OTA updates, app rollouts, content uploads — locally, instead of round-tripping to the cloud for every device.

Provisioning in minutes, not hours

Traditional MDM provisions a device in about 24 minutes. Esper does it in 8. Esper EdgeBox does it in as little as 2. Across 1,000 devices, that's about 367 hours — nine business weeks — handed back to your team.

Up to 98.75% less bandwidth

Push a 5MB update to 100 devices and you'd normally move 500MB from the cloud. With EdgeBox you move 5MB to the gateway once and every device pulls locally. One customer cut an update from 240MB to 3MB.

Performance that doesn't depend on your connection

Low bandwidth, remote sites, intermittent connectivity — it stops mattering once the heavy transfer happens on your local network. Consistent, predictable provisioning with 99%+ success rates.

Your hardware or ours

Install EdgeBox software on hardware you already own, or deploy it on a pre-configured gateway we provide. The gateway talks to Esper Cloud; your devices talk to the gateway. No new management model to learn.

HOW IT WORKS

The cloud download happens exactly once

01
Deploy the gateway
Provision a Linux server to your tenant with one setup script from the Blueprint.
02
First device fills the cache
A CACHE_MISS pulls assets from the cloud once, then stores them on the gateway.
03
Every device after is a hit
Subsequent devices fetch over the LAN — logged as CACHE_HIT, with no cloud round trip.
THE PROOF

Faster everything across real deployments

Tested in production across enterprise fleets in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and correctional facilities. The numbers are consistent — and they hold regardless of connection quality.

WHO IT'S FOR

Built for the fleets where bandwidth matters most

Maybe you ship thousands of devices through a 3PL on a deadline. Maybe your sites can't depend on a stable connection. Maybe a single overnight window is all you get. EdgeBox is built for the deployments where cloud-only simply doesn't scale.

¤

Cut deployment cost at the edge

Every device provisions faster, so staging and kitting — in-house or via a 3PL — costs less per unit. On one 400-device wave, a customer saved over $8,000 in labor and bandwidth combined.

Keep operating when the network won't

Where downtime means lost revenue or interrupted care, EdgeBox keeps operations running locally. Many customers run on-prem as primary and cloud as backup — because the register has to keep ringing.

Update the whole site in one window

Roll out apps, content, or OS updates across an entire location overnight without saturating the uplink. The gateway carries the load locally so devices are ready by open.
